Given its historical context, San Antonio has been defined by systemic and structural factors that do not serve equitable practices. Activists, organizers, city servants, community leaders are needed now more than ever to step into their power to change the city’s course toward a more equitable present and future.
In “Racial Equity in San Antonio: ¡Sí Se Puede!,” which will take place from 12:30pm-2:30pm, attendees will learn the equity tools that were brought to the CIty of San Antonio for the first time a couple of years ago, the results they are yielding today, and how you, too, can apply them to affect change in your organization and/or community groups which, collectively, will greatly advance equity in San Antonio.
“Responding to Racism with Tools for Inner Healing,” will take place from 3:00pm-5:00pm. This two-hour workshop will take participants on an inner adventure to discover how to learn and grow to be able to create a better world for everyone. The first section will be designed to help you see your own subtle behaviors and how they can influence others. The second section will dive into minimizing harsh or critical self-judgment as a way to heal and lessen the ways in which you judge others. You will walk away with powerful tools for inner healing that helps create the world the way you want to see it.
This session is for change agents ready to learn what equity means and how to advance equity in their organizations and communities in order to make San Antonio better for everyone.
